winch 10k vs 12k for the 3.0

Is it necessary to have a 12k lb winch for the 3.0 with steel bumpers and armor ect or will the 10k lb still be fine for most mudding/off roading

10k is fine. Used it today with no issue. Hell we pulled my 3.0 up a 20 degree slope with a 5000lb winch off the hitch of a razr lol.

I think the only reason I'd want more headroom, would be to pull a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup on occasion. Otherwise go for the faster line speed.
