2.5 spacer, swaybar disconnect, and less than 500 dollars for 4 bilstein shocks in the appropriately longer length and the wheel travel is insane. Plus if you add a one inch bump stop you can fit 40s

Are you running any lockers? I can see this is the pre 2024 refresh so no rear locker from factory. Looks great!

Just factory limited slip and i let the brake force system do its magic. So far its done every trail i have put it on out here in sand hollow. Landslide is a 7 and it did it with a little wheelspin here and there but no problems. I led faultline for winter jamboree this year in it before the lift and tires, scrubbed a bit

Nice! I’m thinking about picking up a new Willys XR but am torn between this and a base Rubicon. Imo the Willys XR looks like a beast compared to the Rubi. Do you think it’s capable enough with the rear locker and not worth going to a base Rubi on smaller 33s?

this is my other jeep. 2 door on 40s. I am actually thinking of selling it after trail hero and picking up another willys xr. Since my current willys is my son’s daily. I would miss the push button swaybar disconnect but nothing else

No vehicle I’ve ever had or wheeled with has or had lockers. The refreshed Willys is a beast. I know the gears in the Willy’s are bigger than the rubicon. But the rubicon has the front locker and 4:1 tcase! Both have off-road+ and sway bar disconnects. Willys xr has 35s which if you do and type of wheeling you’ll want to jump to anyway.

All youre missing is the front locker and the rubi transfer case.

You can add a front locker down the road if you really need it. Youre more likely going to realize you dont, unless you really push the jeep.

You can easily fit 35s on a base rubi with a basic spacer lift, but you wont have the 4.56s.

So you’re saying it’s not worth getting a base Rubi when I can get a Willys on 35s with 4.56 gears for a lower price. It’s probably a good 5k difference between them.
Most definitely. Like @entropy said you can add a front locker later if you feel you need to. You can also regear the rubicon later. Or you could get the Willys with 35s, rear locker, 4.56s and have a sick rig. I mean either way you’re getting a sick Jeep! I mean even my 25 sport gets down! And I have no lockers or sway bar disconnect button.

1.5 inch lift over the rubi, 43% stronger axles over base rubi, larger brakes than rubi, steel steering knuckles, 4.56 gears, and the rims. Xr is best bang for the buck ever in a jeep
