In 1994 I bought my first Jeep, a Cherokee Sport XJ and then in 2002 a Liberty Limited. Always wanted a Wrangler so after 19 years it was hard to give up the Liberty (lots of memories) but it was time. And 2 weeks ago we picked up our 2021 Jeep Wrangler JLU Willys. Really can't get over the difference in ride, comfort and technology. Who would think this of a Jeep!

All Willys JLUs came standard with the Rubicon rock rails but I'd like to also install nerf bar steps to protect the doors from dents and make it easier for my 5'2" better half easier access in and out. My question is are there any vendors who make them and able to mount them without having to remove the standard rock rails?

I also have the Ace Engineering Rock Sliders. I did a lot of research and they were the only ones to work with factory rock rails at the time. Maybe more have popped up. But as for the Ace I can say they are awesome. If you look just a few posts above your original, I got sideswiped by a hit and run the other night. The step saved from any damage. I had to scrub some of his paint off. I was doing about 35 at the the and he hit me pretty hard. Heard metal crunching and glass breaking. I thought it was mine but it was his.

Nice color choice, you'll love it.

For a mud terrain tire, I am loving them. They are slightly more noisy than some of the LT all terrain options that I've ran on other vehicles (Duratracs and Ridge Grapplers most recently), but only slightly noisier. They are surprisingly quiet for a M/T, but I only have 7000 miles on them so that may change as they age. Currently you'd have to listen for the hum, the noise is not at all intrusive.

They don't have the wet weather grip that a quality A/T tire provides, though that's really a non issue unless one is an aggressive driver (hard braking, hard acceleration at stop lights, hard cornering). With my driving style on the street, grip is never an issue and I don't accelerate slowly but I don't push it either. Snow and ice performance is somewhat iffy. They do fantastic in deep snow offroad, but they are slick on hardpack compared to a good A/T tire with the mountain snowflake symbol. They do just fine in the snow though when piloted by an experienced snow driver who is driving with respect for the conditions. Offroad is where these tires shine (of course), they really dig in even on the sloppiest of trails.
Perfect! Thanks for such a thoughtful response.

One more week of waiting!:fingerscrossed:

Wow, those ACE rock sliders saved your Jeep from more than just door dents. Glad no one got hurt and damage was just scuffing to the tubes. I'll take a look, thanks!

Picked up my 2021 Willys in December. I am really happy with it. To me, it is the package with the best overall value. I’ve done some minor modifications that I thought I’d share with this community.

Sound System
The stereo install was the biggest investment. The stock system was just completely lacking. I also had issues with CarPlay frequently disconnecting. My first upgrade was to the OEM 8.4” Uconnect system. I found a like-new one on eBay for $1,100. That install took about 30 minutes and within a few hours, it had synced up with my Jeep and everything worked great. I did lose the center console USB port, which is a known issue with upgrading to the 8.4”. I was able to sell my 7” for about $500 to offset the cost of the upgrade.

Infinity Reference Tweeters (these are plug and play for the front dash and roll bar tweeters).

I removed the Willys stickers from the hood and the 4WD sticker from the back. I just wasn’t a fan of the stock badging. I added a fender vent decal I found on Etsy since I’ve always loved Jeep’s patriotic history. I also had the dealer tint the front windows, which they did for $75.

It was very easy. Didn’t take more than an hour to remove and install the new ones. Good luck!

question on the switchbacks and fender lights. Did you have to install a resister? I’m a first time Jeep owner and not particularly handy. I’m working up the confidence to take on more and more little mods. Just did the gas cap and that was fun. Thinking of doing the fender lights, most videos I’ve seen talk about installing a resister and I’m not sure if that’s something I want to tackle just yet. I clicked on the lights you bought and it looks like they call out the fact you don’t need to do a resister, just wanted to confirm if that was the case.
