If the "Bigger Brakes " are same as Rubicon, I'll just switch over to rotors, calipers, pads for Rubicon for my Sport/Willys. It already has the limited slip, I painted the grill, added Rubicon Rock Rails, and Willys decals, a few months ago.

No doubt, but shipping a volume model with only M/T tires is a potential liability nightmare for FCA. M/T tires are worthless in light snow/ice, and I would never equip them on any road-legal vehicle north of GA.
My Toyo MT’s we’re unstoppable on any surface, to include snow, ice, refrozen melted snow, and sun melting an ice covered road. So your blanket statement is inaccurate. The Firestone MT’s may well get you launched into a ditch or a house, but the Toyo’s won’t.

Only the shocks are an " upgrade", Rubicons. When mine wear out, I'll upgrade, ditto the Rubicon bigger brakes..Their Willys is on the Sport S, which has stuff I don't want or need.
I think making a Sport into a Willys is less expensive, and "simpler", like the Namesake

Is it just me or do both of these “special” editions seem not so, well, special?

Willy’s:
Rock rails
32” M/T’s

Freedom:
Tan soft-top
Black badges

Am I missing something?.......

IMO they could’ve made the Willy’s in OD green OR Sergeant red at a minimum... Real shockers FCA, way to get super creative here.. The average Joe could’ve built these in the damn builder online LOL

Right? Lol I was actually surprised after reading the descriptions..

Reminds me of Apple with the iPhones for several years.

“We will call it the iPhone X and charge double, they’ll never know” lol

The Willys TJ had meaningful upgrades, heavy rubber flooring in place of carpet, OD seat covers, military green paint, plus mechanical upgrades.
Now if the JL Willys had this, it would really be a "Special Edition", and worth the price of admission.. My Sport has the Limited Slip, 32" tires, the rest is easy...

both shocks and spring are longer. springs are also stiffer, they hold more weight lift the jeep a bit and allow for better articulation. it is not just the shocks.
