Apple or Android interface most likely. Or other apps. Most people are going away from in car nav since they already have that on their phones and want a large screen to show info from their phone within their cars. This also helps keep cell use hands free.
This. I never use the in-car uconnect Nav. It's slow, clunky and less functional than the phone which is integrated with your address book, yelp among other things. A 7 inch screen should be more than adequate.

Jeep just announced the 2017 Compass this morning. It has the 4th gen Uconnect system with 3 screen choices just like @Milous said the JL Wrangler will get! From the press release:

Fourth-generation Uconnect system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and the choice of 5.0-, 7.0- or 8.4-inch touchscreens with pinch-and-zoom capability.

The all-new 2017 Jeep Compass is equipped with the Uconnect 7.0, 8.4 or 8.4 NAV systems and includes the new Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features.

Unfortunately this is the CarPlay version you have to plug in your iPhone to....it is not the wireless version of CarPlay

Thats kind of a bummer. Maybe it will be upgraded to be wireless by the time it hits the JL and JT.

Possible. And if not there's aftermarket wireless solutions coming out.
Yea maybe some type of device you can plug into the the existing USB port which works as bluetooth.

Definitely looks slick and touchscreen is cool but they better give us enough physical buttons to compliment the system. I don’t like touchscreen systems that go overboard on eliminating buttons and have you jump through menus just to control things like air con. There should definitely be physical buttons for audio volume and air cons at the very least.

For anyone who missed it in the Wish List thread, @Milous confirmed there will be telemetry info displayed!

Would love to see something like that ^^^^

Imagine all the cool telemetry data that could be displayed specific for the Wrangler - current torque, current approach angle, etc.

If it's optional for the Charger and Challenger no reason they can't make it available for the Wrangler too considering its about the same price.
You won't have to imagine...

What telemetry info will be displayed? And will it be displayed in the info display or connect screen?

The Grand Cherokee has wheel angle and steering angle displayed in its LCD EVIC (attached pic). I would hope it's more info than this. Torque distribution, wheel slip, approach angle, etc. would be very cool and appropriate for the Wrangler.

It should display more than just these.

Even the Acura MDX shows info like how much power going to each wheel.
