helping a friend with his JLUS. putting 35s on it along with Rubi suspension and RC 2.5" spacer lift. its going to sit fairly high. basically the same as a Rubi with RC spacer lift and 35s.

will this fit into a standard garage? clear the garage door? putting the 35s on today, on bone stock JLUS. will do the suspension some time during the week once all the parts arrive. ill post pics of both.

thanks in advance for the help

Yes. My rig is on a 2.5" lift with 35s. My previous Wrangler was on 3.5" and 35s. Plenty of room.

As you can see from my avatar, it's in my garage. :)

It'll depend on the height of your garage door and clearance. The best is to measure your jeep with a friend from the ground to the highest area, then you can easily calculate your added inches 2.5" for the lift + 1.75" (35" - 31.5", div x2) for the added rubber between your rim and ground so that makes 4.25" just for those two items. I didn't calculate the Rubi suspension change as this may add a bit, not sure how much so you'd have to add that too and if you need you can calculate your height on your jeep then go to a dealer to calculate the Rubi one or go by the web specs and give yourself a bit of play.

In general, I don't base myself on other people's comment to know if it fits or not because every house is different, every door, every garage door sill etc. that it may varie from one person to another and what fits his/hers may not fit yours. Its a bit of labor, but its well worth it to measure cause for all you know maybe you'd be able to fit a 3-4" suspension lift too.../grins

my 2 cents

I just talked to someone who has a JLUS with 35s with 2.5 RC lift and he said his height was ~74.5 inches.

I've got a 2.5" MetalCloak lift with 37's and fit in the garage just fine. 7 ft door.

I have a JLR

thanks for the replies. i told him to measure from the top of the jeep tonight after the 35s are put on. will need about 4" or so of clearance for the rubi suspension plus RC kit. worst case, he'll just run the spacer kit.

I have a rubicon with the RC spacers and stock tires and I do not have any problems getting into my normal garage with a standard wooden swing up door. I could safely go 35s and still fit since it would only add ~1 inch. I have the hard top, I hear the soft top sits higher.

As promised, pics of the jeep in question. Bone stock except for removed euro bumpers and 35s added. 315/70/17 Patagonias on 17x9.5 Edge forged wheels (now under Weld Racing) with 4.5 backspacing

You guys with 7ft doors are lucky. My house was built in the 60's and the height of the I beam in the garage ceiling, and the garage door is 72".

Uhmm, how do you get out of your car? through the back gate? Is your garage really that narrow??

Right now my stock JL Sahara fits in my garage with about 1-2 inches to spare clearing the door. As with another post on this thread, my house was built around 1953, so the garage is a little low ceiling, probably a little over 7 feet. As a side note, when the Garage door people came out to repair and replace my old garage door opener, one of the guys actually wrote on the tag, "good luck" to the next door guy. apparently it was a very tight fit.

I have a 7' door on a house built in the 80s but that's not the limiting factor. There is a large support beam running across the center of the garage for rooms above. This is my real concern.

I'm limited to a 1.5" lift (rubicon suspension) until I move. Also my factory radio antenna constantly reminds me of the limited clearance.

lol. Now that you mention it, it does look odd. Actually, it's the third stall in a three-car garage. Somewhat common here.

I have the Mopar lift which gave me about 2.5” of lift. 37’s and the soft top which is taller. I still fit with about an inch to spare.

7ft garage but the trimming cuts it down to about a 71” opening.
