This is how I see it: if she drives a Nissan Q60, she is already used to throwing money away... šŸ˜«
Oh it's worse than that. She has the 3.0 twin turbo, Summer tires, staggered wheels and fully loaded. I'm afraid she'll think the 392 is slow.

This is going to be an interesting experiment. They're both about the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile, but power delivery is going to feel different. I'm looking forward to seeing which one becomes the more popular Jeep in the family.
That's why I got the 4xe initially. It's amazingly fast off the line. Then she fell in love with the JL so she has to get one "better" than mine.

Lucky man obviously doesnā€™t live in Ca. or other CARB state and has enough money to not care about the warranty. Please forgive my jealousy speaking.
Yep, no CA.

Hint: it's far far less than a hemi swap in a normal JL. But yeah, I've been fortunate enough to just be able to fix anything on my dime that I break.

If buying a 392 is what it took to get my wife into a Jeep, then I would sign the paperwork today
She already got my old '98 TJ to drive around....

Oh, it could have been much worse. She could be driving a $60,000 Infiniti QX60, which was nothing more than a glorified Nissan Pathfinder, built on a Nissan Altima, CVT and all...!

In a JL 392, she will feel like it is suddenly 2075 and she joined the gang of Mad Max...

Why donā€™t you give her your 4Xe and get yourself a 392...?

Iā€™ll bet youā€™d sign without hesitation!

Besides, between the two Jeeps youā€™ll average something close to ā€œnormalā€ fuel consumption.

OK....we've had a TJ for 24 years so we thought it was time and bought a 21 JLUR 4xe last year and now the wife has decided it's nice enough to trade in her Q-60 for a 392. While $50k is a lot for a Jeep, $75k just seems ridiculous. That's 50% more Jeep! Of course, she wants the XR package and half doors too. Is there at least a snowballs chance in hell to order one for 5% below invoice like I did for the 4xe? Also, do I have a snowballs chance in hell convincing her that I need the 392 and she can have the 4xe?
Yes, I ordered mine at 6% (at the time) at Chapman in Horsham PA, as of now I think itā€™s 10% off MSRP confirm it with themā€¦I can send you contacts if you want.

I think itā€™s a great thing that your wife wants a badass wrangler! Women like badass wranglers just as much as guys do! Just google images of ā€œJeep girlsā€ and youā€™ll get plenty of pics of women loving their Jeeps! šŸ˜‰šŸ‘

depends on what option she wants.. my 4Xe Rubi is 72k with every option i could find. similar spec-ed 392 could be 90k or similar.

I will tell you right now, divorce is far more pricey than a 392... so let her get the 392, you fill up gas in that and mourn silently in all electric mode. win-win ... for her at least lol
the sad part is other people in traffic will be able to hear OP crying as he sits in his quiet 4xe. at least the 392 the exhaust would down out his cries; although he'd really only be crying at the gas pump.

OP, get your wife the 392 then SABOTAGE! make sure fuses are loose (if not factory optioned), let air out of the tires, loosen some suspension parts so it drives squirrely, maybe drill a hole in the muffler. eventually she'll loathe driving it and dump it on you in exchange for the peace and quiet of the 4xe.

ive driven q60 red sport. its pretty damn quick. no way 392 will feel as quick. if its too slow for her maybe you can grab her a hellcat take off blower  or convince her that the 4xe is actually quicker lol

As an old hot rodder who enjoys high performance ( including blown Chevy in CJ5) I find the inability to do any performance increases illegal unless state approved and the good stuff is not approved beyond frustrating, aggravating, depressing and tyrannical, we donā€™t even have a useable availability of over 91 octane gas. Rant over

All I can offer is...
Maybe get 2... you won't be sorry.
