And yes I plan to have both of us take out rigs out. She needs to get comfortable off road.
get her on 35s. A 4 door JL on 35s and with better suspension (articulation) is a loooot more comfortable to wheel. Wheeling a stock JL can be scary as youve already experienced!

Have her take it out stock, let her see what she wants to improve, if anything.
She’s been with me every time we’ve gone out wheeling with it but never driving herself. She knows it’s limitations from the places I’ve taken it.

This sounds like my similar situation. I tried to get my wife to buy a Jeep instead of her 3 row suv and she said it wasn’t practical. So a year later, I buy a 392. She takes if for a drive and tell me my truck is more fun than hers, and she wants one.
After hearing the 392, she said anything less will feel like she’s compromising. 😂😂🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
I’m just glad she loves it. We shall see what the next move is.

when my 2 door was stock my wife hated wheeling. She would get off the Jeep as soon as we lifted a tire or whenever I hit the skids.

Now with my rubi suspension and 33s the two door is a loooot more capable. she enjoys moderate trails and has told me her anxiety went way down.

Yeah it was pretty nasty especially with all the weight up top. Taking the Rubicon 392 out for the first time in Arizona even with a stock 33‘s was incredible. World of a difference. I seriously love this hobby.

The Sahara or the 392? I'm sure there's a load of difference, lol.

What I would do:

Option 1:
Upgrade your stock suspension, then install the takeoff coils, shocks, etc. on her Jeep.
Upgrade your stock wheels/tires and give them to her, or purchase a used set of Rubicon takeoff wheels/tires (285/70R17's)for her.
Upgrade your stock rock rails and give her the ones you just took off.
Buy a Taser or FlashCal to calibrate the Speedo

Option2:
Purchase her a used Rubicon takeoff suspension (steel bumper group/hardtop/tow package).
Purchase her a set of Rubicon takeoff wheels/tires (285/70R17's).
Purchase her a set of stock Rubicon rock rails.
Buy a Taser or FlashCal to calibrate the Speedo

Install everything yourself to save some $$!

Ah, okay. I've never really been disappointed with mine, especially with the Rubicon takeoffs I've got. @cavguy has a good Idea with using 392 takeoffs on the Sahara. That would go a long way!

My old Sahara Mopar 2" with 35's. I agree with others- get a more complete lift even if not wheeling it often.
