In all fairness if it wasn’t for her, I probably wouldn’t even own a 392 right now. She is the one who wanted a jeep first. Her buying a Jeep and me driving it constantly is the reason I was instantly hooked.

She said that her jeep looks like a shrimp next to mine and wants to put on a mild lift and new tires.

I’m thinking just a Mopar 2 inch lift and BFG KO2 35s. I would also like to get rid of the plastic runningboards. What are you guys think? Keep it simple, but give her the beefed up look she thinks she wants or keep it stockish?

You know what to do - Tuscadero 392 and sell her Sport.

That’s hilarious. When she was looking for cars she actually showed me a G 63 that was $175,000 and also she showed me the 392 and I told her no way. She actually remembers and says “ you told me I couldn’t get a 392 and then you got one yourself.”

This is what I’d do:
  1. Mopar 2-inch lift. ~ $2,000
  2. Keep the Altitude wheels $0
  3. Get a set 285/75R18 ATs (i.e., 35x11) ~ $1,600
  4. Recalibrate the speedo / shift points ~ $330 for a Tazer
For $4,000, she will love the big tires, the taller stance, yet everyone else will think it is still “stock”.

That’s less than the sales tax on a new JL.

True. I did tell her if she might want a newer Jeep to wait for the mid cycle refresh, putting money into this one wouldn’t make sense.

That’s about the exact route I was thinking. Can’t believe I have a wife that wants to upgrade her Jeep too but it’s fun to be a Jeep couple and both be passionate about our rigs.

I agree with your wife 100%. Specially you parking it next to hers :CWL:. Get that Sahara on 35s and take it wheeling!!! I'd go with something other than Mopar lift. but Mopar lift is alright.

PS - the 285/75R18 Duratracs have come down in price lately. They are now below $300 each.

They measure 35.2 inches.

Yeah I was looking at metal cloak as well I’m just not sure how much money I wanna put into hers hahah

And yes I plan to have both of us take out rigs out. She needs to get comfortable off road.

Well I concur. I'd shop around on the tire size though, they can get pretty pricy for 18" wheels.

Oh I wasnt even thinking MC or RC. i was thinking teraflex being a much better deal than mopar. i was thinking a more complete liftkit for the same price. Mopar only comes with longer LCAs and theyre not even adjustable.

On and I would switch to 17in wheels for sure.

Have her take it out stock, let her see what she wants to improve, if anything.
