Why do some Rubicons stand taller than others? (Stock, no lift)

I’ve ordered a Rubicon, so of course now every Rubi on the road draws my attention. I’ve noticed that some ride higher than others at stock height.

Am I crazy?

At first I thought this might be stiffer springs, which I heard came with the steel bumper group, but then I noticed some of the “lower” ones have steel bumpers.

Surely this can’t be the 2” mopar lift?

Do the springs just sag after a while?

Tried to capture what I mean in these two images (I realize one is a 4XE but seems like, if anything, the 4XE ought to be heavier on its springs):

4xe is an inch taller, verified on lot by one of the guys on the forum.

Mopar lift is identifiable by the fox shocks instead of red.
That might be what it is. I ordered a 4XE so I’ve been looking at a lot of images of those specifically. Thanks!

The 4xe in your pics is on uneven ground. Also, 4xe has adjustments to handle the extra 600lbs. Ride hight should be same. Some are saying inch taller, but nothing in the specs about it

Some Jeeps are just more proud than others.

Seriously tho, I wouldn't count on that extra inch on the 4xe. I've hit the bump stop going slowly offroad in some pitchy spots where the added battery weight becomes noticeable. It may stand higher out the door, but quickly settles that weight onto the springs.

Steel Bumpers, towing package, steel bumpers with towing package, 392, 4xe or diesel (weight diff), hard top vs soft top vs SOT, amount of gear or occupants inside, factory tolerances, and combination of the previous... There are plenty of reasons to see differences. Even lighting and angle.

The diesels also seem to sit a bit taller than gas, for the same trim level.

I have a stock Rubi and my friend has the Rubi diesel. Mines actually taller than hers. Figure it’s the weight of the engine.

Also…. Obvious that tires would impact this.

the other day I saw two Rubi’s in a local parking lot. Both were completely stock except one had takeoff Sahara wheels and tires. Why anyone would do that I don’t know but….

so that one set a little lower.

My 2D sport on rubi 2D suspension is a bit taller than many if not all 4 door stock rubis Ive seen. It is a small difference but it is there.

For example, snapped both of these in the past few days. My impression in person was that the nacho one sat taller and the white one was lower, but now looking at these images it's hard to tell if that's true or if I'm nuts.

My 2020 JLUR non eTorque 3.6 sat slightly higher then my current 2021 JLUR non eTorque 2.0 by about 1/2 inch. It looked like more and I attributed that to colored fenders vs black fenders which kinda makes for an optional elusive of sorts.

Doesn’t matter now because my 2021 now has a mild 2” lift and 35” tires so it is a solid 3” overall taller then stock.
