Given that historically Jeeps (a.k.a. today's Wrangler) are so synonymous with winning wars and securing our freedom (Eisenhower considered the Jeep one of his top 3 vehicles that helped win WW II) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willys_MB I take that Freedom seriously: including the right for people, as long as it's street legal and safe, to customize their Wranglers as they see fit.

Some mods I find outright distasteful to my sense of what's right. Then again, the owners of some of those Wranglers may feel the same way about mine. Regardless, I extend the wave to all, including those who run stock.

As to why owners do "this," be it this thread's mod or any the answer is simple (if not also already obvious to all):

"because the cost of doing so was less than the worth of the benefit they felt doing it."

I don’t post much. But that’s my exact setup, 22” rims with 37s. Glad I got a horrible looking Jeep

I'm actually looking to go to 17's eventually. That looks awesome! Don't need lots of sidewall if you're not climbing rocks, I'd bet it's quite capable on some fun trails.

I guess mine is horrible too... :giggle:

Thanks. I’ll be honest, I didn’t buy it to go rock crawling like some do. I bought it cuz I like the look of jeeps and I like the fact of knowing that it can go anywhere I may need to go. I also didn’t buy it to go to mall as some may think

In balanced fairness to the OP @Revolution_322 his comments transcend aesthetics and discuss performance and practicality hits to the rig from the actions of the modifier: much as I respect that modifier's right to make those changes.

Look, for practicality, low and slow riders of Southern California are hardly the daily drivers that are Toyota Camrys. The art is about the expression of a culture that has right to exist.

“Performance” for what?

did this dude Revolution_322 actually talk to the owner of this rig and discuss what the owner wanted to do with it ? or did Revolution only project his personal thoughts on this “moron”?

This is a NY/NJ/FL phenomenon. Something in the water on the east coast.

Or anywhere where a man or woman wants to make a Jeep into something that they personally like. Are they “morons”? Nope. They just have an aesthetic that one may not appreciate. Are they any less of a Jeep owner? Nope. And I will wave that them just the same.

And I will laugh at them, isn't freedom great?

Yep. It’s certainly your right to laugh at them for doing something that they like. And they will do the same to you. That’s what makes the world go round.

that said, you have not called them a “moron” and I would take equal umbrage if they called you same.

No, "silly" is about as harsh as I would go.
