Those findings don’t jive with the sales figures mentioned above.

There must be a bias introduced by the fact that we are an enthusiasts forum —i.e., proportionally speaking, Rubicon buyers are more likely than Sport buyers to spend time on this forum.
Agreed. Either that or the unknown 2019 & 2020 numbers look way different than the 2018 numbers.

Going back three model years, the 2016-18 JK 2-door Rubicon is consistent with the JL numbers

2016: 4,356/39,394 = 11%
2017: 3,928/38,044 = 10%
2018: 2,041/19,388 = 10.5%
