Damn you guys, thanks for all the responses! Really glad to hear there haven't been any real issues. I was over on the RAM forums and they seem to believe if the engine is worked on occasion and given highway time (to regen) it'll be fine in the long run. I'm really happy to hear the MPGs are staying above 22 with mods, as I had the old 3.8 and was paying out more for gas than my payment every month with 2" lift and 35s. I'm test driving tomorrow though I'll likely have to order, as the one they have isn't built right for me.

Really glad to hear from so many of you. Appreciate the responses. I'm sold.

I spoke to a very experienced jeep mechanic who said they frequently see the previous gen EcoDiesel grand Cherokee’s and rams come in with 200-300k miles still going strong. They’re good engines. The few lemons out there complain on the forums, but the majority that are fine don’t have a reason to get on the forums lol

My JLURD is in the shop with the CEL on. I got the light, went to the dealer, they ”found” the problem of a plug to a NOx sensor. Less than a week later it was back on and this time I got a service DEF system on the dash. 7000 miles and that is the only issue. If I drive reasonably, meaning set the cruise at 65mph, I can get 31mpg. On 37” BFG KOs. I am very happy with my oil burner.

7000 miles and that is the only issue.
I feel like, at only 7,000 miles, there shouldn’t be ANY issue. This 3rd Gen diesel isn’t brand new this year is it? Wasn’t in the RAM 1500 last year?

The MPGs with mods is my primary reason for the 3.0. You can’t touch 20mpg with the other two optionsonce you add tires, lift, winch, etc.
I drive 25K a year. I’ll need decent MPG. And with a longer commute made of mostly highway driving, I’m hoping the 3.0 will be kind to me in both maintenance and MPGs.

What is the new full time 4WD system offered? Are they going to a dial on the dash?

PS: Can I ask what Off Road + is on the JT’s and now on the Rubicons?

Tell me what you all ordered and what options and model you ordered. I've called 2 different local deals, and they have no idea about the diesel.

Anyone willing to share what they pay if they leased? I’m paying 564/mo for my JT Rubi, but looking to switch to a diesel. So far I haven’t been able to touch that payment no matter what the build.
