Uhaul shows flat bedding it. Not sure if there are other options.

FYI. RV'r buy Wranglers because it is the easiest vehicle to flat tow. There is no reason to lift a wheel or flat bed a Wrangler. My $.02

I may have misunderstood your question. Are you in a situation where you are buying a new JL and need to transport it home or moving cross country and need to rent a U-Haul and get your Jeep there too? In either case, the safest way without adding flat towing equipment on the Jeep would be to throw it on an auto transport behind the U-Haul. Sorry

Just so you know, the tow bar, vehicle mounting brackets, lights, and braking unit will almost certainly cost more than a one time trailer rental.

Flat towing is very convenient. Not cheap to set up.

I just bought my first Jeep, a 2011 JK specifically to tow behind my RV. The fact that it turns out that I love the manual shift and the Jeep in general is just a bonus.
BUT to flat tow it, you need to invest money. A tow plat on the Jeep, the proper tow bars and in many states an auxiliary braking system in the towed vehicle. That's ok if you plan to flat tow in the future, but if it is a one off and done, pretty sure renting a flat bed would be the cheaper option. ALL FOUR wheels MUST be off the ground, no dollys

This. If itā€™s a onetime thing a uhaul trailer is THE way to go. I hauled one from Michigan to Iowa and then from Iowa to Georgia on Uhaul auto trailer. Easy set up and not bad $$ wise.

I think it said $400 for the flatbed.

You can put it on a dolly if you disconnect the rear driveshaft to get it home.

A tow bar, brake, wiring/lights, breakaway switch will set you back significantly more than that, Iā€™ve got about $1600 in the setup I use to pull mine behind a motorhome.

I agree with most of the replies. To set up a Wrangler to tow is $$, a good base plate will run around $400-500, braking system is another $400 or more to set up then for a good tow bar itā€™s another $600-$1000.
