i just got my Extreme Recon but took her out on her first proper trail yesterday. Some very Gnarly steps to climb but did it all without a scratch. Had a sport s before this and never felt as confident as i do in the Rubicon. i just need to get myself out of the way and let her do what she is very capable of doing!

Amen to that! I feel the same way coming from my wife’s Sahara. The Rubicon is truly in a different class. I just got back from vacation and can’t wait to get back out on the trails.
Playing on Cleghorn trail (2N47) with my one-month old.

San Bernardino NF. Runs along the crestline between the scales on the I-15 Cajon pass & Lake Silverwood. Good trail for beginners looking to test their limits. All obstacles have bypasses.

I've had such great times offroading. I've wheeled Tacomas and even a Ford Taurus once. I'm not into black diamond trails, but I'll hit up some fun, not too technical terrain.

I like to chill, I don't want to thrash my rig against a bunch of rocks, although I did opt for a Rubicon for the lockers; I've been stuck before wheeling without lockers, and it suuuuckkkks.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
My Jeep has done LOTS of off roading in its first 54k miles, all over the country. It all started with only 700 miles on the clock.

For all the grinding, bumping, and thumping I've done to my Jeep, including getting stuck in big rocks so badly it took a winch, snatch block, Hi-Lift Jack, 4 guys, and an hour to get it out, it is remarkably unscathed. I have bruised a cross member (many times), nailed and gouged the FAD skid plate (aftermarket, thicker than stock) and scraped the frame rails and T-case skid, and dragged the Rancho diff skids over rocks. But it is surprising to me how little actual damage that's done to it. I hit it with Rustoleum Rust Reformer and it's ready for the next trail.

My 2008 has 14 years of off-roading on its resume. It still looks and drives like new.
But for all that, I do baby them with good maintenance practices and what I beieve are the best oils and fluids. I keep them very clean, too, so even the old 2008 is rust free, even after 162k miles.
we say treat it like a race vehicle, maintain it like a race vehicle.

Nothing better than spending the day on a trail. I don’t try to kill the Jeep, but definitely have fun. Hoping for Dana 60’s and 40’s soon. Why buy a Jeep if you’re not going to enjoy. Like buying a Corvette and only driving 35. Can't wait to go back to Moab, and doing Rubicon trail in 2023.

Maiden trip in my new to me Rubicon at Dishpan Springs from a few weeks ago. Video really doesn’t do justice, but look up Dishpan Springs and you’ll see plenty that do.
