Who actually takes their JL offroad?

You'd be surprised what a tough, clutch-less rear LSD like a TrueTrac can do.

I still don’t understand why Jeep insists in using a clutch-based LSD.

Is that similar to a TorSen diff? I've got experience with those on HMMWVs and I never had trouble with wheel slip.

TrueTrac is a “helical gear” differential. Not sure if that is a Torsten diff or not.

Unlike a traditional LSD, TrueTrac engages and disengages without the need for clutches, significantly reducing wear, tear and wheel slip.

TrueTracs are known to outlast the axles in which they were installed.

I had a Detroit TrueTrac in the rear of my 2014 and 2015 Saharas: they were simply unstoppable. I did not miss my Rubicons.

Unfortunately, Eaton does not make a Detroit TrueTrac for the new D44 axles used on JL. I am still waiting...

The Aftermarket sure did take their time with the JLs... In any event I think its going to be quite a while before my current LSD wears out enough to replace. They might have something by then, lol.

My problem was solved by taking my brother (who lives in Knoxville) with me to the trails. let my wife hang out with my Sister-in-Law and no problems were heard from them. lol

much better half FINALLY got to Yesterday. out of 87 jeeps that went in her group, probably 15 were jls.


out of 15 jls, probably 5 came back looking like hey drove through the 8th circle of hell.

my wife's was one of those.

Went to Rausch Creek this weekend to knock out all three Badge of Honor trails. Crawl Daddy is not for the faint of heart!!! Trail #14/Rock Creek was crazy as well. Rocks of all varying sizes as far as the eye can see.
