I can't wait, but I am waiting, until I get the rock rails on it. I have the painted fender flares and I'm not even taking it down a gravel road until I get the rails on it. I'm going with LOD and they sit almost flush with the outside of the flares, so they should block any debris from the front tires hitting the rear fender flares.

I've definitely been bit by the off-road bug. When I first got my JLUS it was going to be for light off- roading and camping trips. Did my first off road at Hungry Valley OHV in Gorman and I was hooked. 9 months later and just got back from a trip to Moab and hit Hell's Revenge and Fins and Things.

I wonder how much different my old 3rd edition is.
do you need spare fuel to make the alpine loop (2-door tank)?
My 4th Edition just arrived. What an awesome resource!! I have temporarily given up porn this book is so exciting!!

Next time, go across the river, turn South on 279 take a right at Poison Spider.

At the top, take time to peer through Little Arch watching drivers on Devil's Crack and Z turn across the river. Note the bikers crossing Little Arch.

Continue on to Golden Spike.

It all looks pretty easy from space.

Then finish over Goldbar Rim.

Try to go with someone who wants to drive it again around the summer solstice. You won't have time for Rusty Nail. Later, in town, admire your ride.

@HardSell Thanks for the info! Yeah I'll definitely be coming back and will check out those spots you mentioned. The guys I hang with enjoy Moab and Sand Hollow which I haven't had a chance to experience yet. Plans are already being made for a trip in July but we'll see.

And yeah....the space view is the best....or afterwards when you review your video and it doesn't accurately reflect the magnitude of fear building inside as you look up at the sky putting faith in a spotter that you only hear on your radio.

I have a 2019 4 door Rubicon that I got last year for the family to enjoy on the weekends. We gone to a few state parks but mainly rider around town. I have a 2 door 13 Rubicon on 37" that is setup as a pretty legit rock crawler. I've met a group of guys that go to a Jeep "badge trail" once a month or so and actually ride. We've scuffed up some paint, hardtops, bent a driveshaft or 2 and for sure scraped up some wheels. I've noticed their 4 doors go up steep, wet rocky inclines better than my short bus and that's got me looking for a 4 door to wheel. My question is, how do yall feel about actually off-roading your 1 year old 50K JL?

I know I can take the top off, get some skids and go to town, but I know I will eventually back up into a tree. Slide off a wet rock and scratch up/ dent some stuff. Just curious how many actually do this or am I nuts?
First time i took mine out it still had paper tags so <1 year old... JL. Every opportunity i get. Not as crazy as some of the rigs on this thread, but as I’ve said 1,001 times stock it’ll do enough to make most people pee the seat without destroying it
edit knew a had an old pic somewhere - still had paper tags on the rubi on this trip lol!

At first it doesn't feel right but then you realize it's a nice luxury. Unless you're mudding, offroading a new vehicle isn't much to worry about. Not many trails that are that difficult tbh

I'd rather take a new vehicle fresh off the lot offroading vs 5 years in when I consider it slaughtered. Who knows what's gonna break at that point naturally
