Took mine to the mountains well before I had plates.

Been to CA deserts and Ouray rock tastic sights... I have not done crazy rock crawling but it will happen. Was supposed to have already been to Moab, but that and Ouray will happen again this year.

The best thing about getting out and exploring is meeting all the great people out there.

Even if it's just dirt roads leading to an unknown town or a fantastic out of the way brewery, go play. That's what you bought this particular toy for isn't it?
Great Post with some good pics, thats what its all about my friend....

I will eventually, I bought it 2 weeks before the planet shutdown so I'm a little behind with my plans lol

Doesn't help the border's shutdown and all the places to wheel that aren't an 8 hour drive are in Michigan.
Yeah, I found out the hard way. I thought I was going out to the middle of nowhere to my favorite little lake. Guess where the rest of the city went as well. It was so bad they actually had police on the road there. We tried to find a trail but everything was blocked off. Now its getting so damn hot here in Phx, it sucks cause we have to go North to find a little relief and everyone else does the same... sigh!

After a year I finally started doing some off-road with the whole family and neighbors last 3 weekends in row. Got my wife to do her first crawl and she was screaming but loved it afterwards. Ordered differential skid plates and oil pan skid just so I don’t have to worry about it as much. Hitting redcone and some other harder trails by bailey Colorado this weekend. Dad and kids camping trip with bunch of neighbor guys and their Jeeps/trucks. Looking forward to it.

The last numbers I saw about Jeep owners and off road usage stated that 90% of Jeep owners never take their Jeeps off-road. Living here in AZ, I think that our percentages of off road driving are higher but there are a lot of nicely built mall crawlers out there.

I do mainly overlanding and probably average 3000 miles of off road driving a year with some years spending up to 100 nights a year in the "wilds", all over the west coast states. Hitting the Heart of the West Trail (HOW) next spring which is 2900 off road miles thru 6 states alone. Little to no technical stuff but lots of BLM and FS roads.

I wheel when I can. East coast has waaaaay different options. But, this is after a day on the property with a friend and our families. We got 22° sideways and 22° on a vertical. Not crazy by any means, but did have to go for the lockers on a soft wash out space where we went sideways. Its always fun, and hey, that's what these things are for!

Also did a 30 inch deep water crossing one time on a trail I wanted to hit in my Taco, but...no dice with 30 inches, so that's why I bought this baby. Family ADVENTURES!!!

Wheeling is great, but having the wife being into it as much as I am, is priceless. She’s been all in from the jump..........

Off-roaded in several states mainly on the west coast...scratches, dings, etc... are badges of honor. I scrapped my way through a wash in UT, luckily the narrow pass didn't leave any scratches. I did, however, find out later I put a big dent into one of my side steps when a rock cluster I drove over broke and we came down on it.

Need to find some moderates around here on the East Coast otherwise I'll just road trip again out west and hit all the trails I marked off as next time.

Here in my big metroplex I'll bet it's higher than 95%. It's that high partly because there aren't any interesting trails that don't take a long highway drive.

To me..not taking my JL off road would be like not taking my Harley out.. It just wouldn't make sense.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
To be able to take the top and doors off a vehicle and cruise the beach in the summer for one.
I love to off raod my JLUR, but cruising in town with the top and doors off, music up is one of my life's greatest pleasures. Maybe its because Michigan weather sucks so much that each time I am able to drive the Jeep with the tops and doors off it is kind of magical. Unlike off roading where it is not as weather dependent.
