Why buy a Jeep if you're not gonna Jeep it?

You never know what you will find out there, it's a big world ...

I wish I could but it's a 250mi drive just to get to anything off-road from S. Ontario - unless you know someone with private trails. There is no crown land ( the Canadian version of BLM) anywhere close by.
The only thing I get that comes close is the weekly drive through an old Quarry where we practice and train Scuba diving in the 100 ft deep water.
We had plans to drive through Western Canada and USA this year but...

Edit...we do get out camping a lot ... but again, not anytime soon...

I wouldn't have bought a Jeep if I wasn't going to take it offroad.

I prefer overlanding to rock crawling and there a re tons of great passes here in Colorado that my Rubicon is going to see!

I just take mine to the mall.

But there was that one time in Colorado, Utah, Tennessee and Michigan that I wandered al lillte way off the road.

With all fairness, Michigan roads are terrible. This was last weekend on a legal Michigan road.

I may run that one trail out by Lake Tahoe on the West side in California in July. It will be a 4000+ mile trip. Just got to let things open back up.
I am a fellow Michigander as well. What lift and tires are you rocking?

I’m from Michigan as well. That road is actually one of our better ones :CWL:
I'm from Ohio and have a cottage in northern Michigan (Leota/Harrison area). Yep that's one of the better roads. Lotsa cool trails though (mostly sand) that we spend hours enjoying the Jeep, the people, and of course the scenery.

My goal with my Jeep is not to find some super ugly trail and drive it for the purpose of driving the trail. Rather, I want my Jeep to take me to places —- said another way - the trail is not the destination Rather, it needs to lead to one. Maybe that’s on old mining camp ...
That's me- I have places to go for camping, sightseeing, hiking, photography, whatever. It just so happens that some of these places are hard to get to. Lockhart Basin and Elephant Hill for examples, you need a pretty serious vehicle to get there.

When my order comes in, I won't even have 1000 miles on it before I get my first badge. I bought it for fun, not to be a pavement queen.
We did our break-in miles on the highway going to Utah!

We bought our jeep because my husband and the kids and I love to take our R.V and go camping. We wanted something we could tow behind us that would allow us to get out and explore the surrounding areas. We certainly don't need a lifted Rubicon to go on the adventures we do. But hey sometimes a girl wants what she wants.....

I guess I'm a little late to the party but I'll throw in a few pics. Even though I use the Jeep as a Daily Driver, I do enjoy going off the beaten path with my JLU.

Send it! That's what I bought it for ! This was a couple of weeks after getting it. Still pretty much bone stock except for the winch in the front bumper. That was needed later that day if I remember correctly. LOL!

The first run was in August of last year. Bone stock, I didn't even have my CB installed yet. It was a learning experience I kept expecting to drag on things that I'd catch on my KL Trailhawk. I mostly run trails and backroads to enjoy the views and company. Building it up for an overlander.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.

I have been off roading and trail riding around Leota/Harrison for about 30 years. We often camp along the high banks of the Muskegon river west of Leota. Many times we drop on the trails at Harrison and run trails all the way to St. Helens. I have dirt biked, ATVed, SxSed, snowmobiled and of course Jeeped that area.

I also guide Jeep trail rides of the area many weekends a year. All season.
