which wiring harness? ('24 JLU)

Greetings.

We have a hitch receiver, but need a trailer wiring harness for a '24 JLU Sport.

Crazy price range -- $75 for basic Quadratic, $140 for Rugged Ridge, $315 for Mopar.

I'd welcome any & all guidance on what's 'good enough' and reasonably reliable.

I found some at Harbor Freight, I also found some on Amazon that didn't look too bad. Sorry I can't speak for longevity but a common problem with the wiring; dirt and debris can build up in the connectors. I know it comes with a cover, but I still put a small Ziplock bag with a zip tie around mine and electrical tape on the other connections. I had very good luck with this.

Smart or dumb I went with Mopar. Figured the $ delta is like a couple tanks of gas, balanced against the time to do the install (I also had to drop my belly pan to get access above frame rail).

Ive been using a $75 Quadratec without any issues, simple install over all.

Remove both tail lights to access the plugs, then I followed the drivers side frame rail/ brake lines and came out on the drivers side in the engine compartment, then I followed the wiper cowl to reach the battery.

If you only need a 4 way connection, the cheap options are fine. I used Curt with good results.
If you need a 7 way, spend a little more and get the Mopar one. I was cheap the first time I did this and it was a real hassle to add the 7.
