I have the Warn winch plate, if I were to do it again I would choose another with the smittibilt x20 gen2 comp. It sits too close to the grill for my taste. Not enough room for a neoprene cover to go on with it. I had to notch the cover to fit as the back of the winch where the wires go is pretty close to touching. I would prefer it to sit a little further forward.
Do you know of any that sit a little more forward? I would like to get a plate that would allow me to use the cover.

I do not. I have seen few others with the issues and other winch plates

Same here. I got this plate + the D-ring add ons with a SmittyBuilt X20 Winch. Easy mounting, Winch sits nice and low. Great instructions with it too.
@MacombRoger Did this mount allow you to keep the factory skid plate? What has been your experience with it so far? Not much info out there on it? Have you used the winch? Has the plate held up? Any bending or issues at all? Thanks!

I went with this one as well and it is beefy! I have a Smitty 10k X2O mounted to it and it works perfectly.

I am sure the others mentioned above are great as well but I have heard from some of the members in my club the JCR one flexes a lot when hard pulling, I havent seen it first hand so I cant confirm so take this with a grain of salt.
@brianP What has the experience been with this winch plate so far? Has it held up? Any flexing or bending? Were you able to use the factory skid plate without modification?

I installed a Warn plate with a Smittybilt X20 12K winch with no issues aside from some of the bolts being too short.

Yes, factory skid plate bolted right back into position. I have used the winch a few times now, both for my own recovery and to help others. No issues with the mount at all, no bending or anything. Its very stout.

I went with the Rusty's winch plate also, specifically because it did not push the bumper forward and mess up the skid plate install. I put a Quadratec Stealth winch on mine, and the generic neoprene cover I got fits just fine.

I think Rockhard has the best winch plate.
The Rock Hard winch plate is a very well built plate, but it does not work with the SmittyBilt XRC 9500 Gen 3 Winch. The rear tie bar hits the grill before the bumper is fully bolted on. I believe it sits higher overall to begin with and the rear is angled upward making this a no go for the SmittyBilt XRC

Interesting. I know about the 10 degree tilt, how do you know it sits higher?
