What manual transmission will be used in the new JL? Hoping it's a new 6 speed, preferably 7 - w/ a little more class than the current (NSG370 - 2005 - present). Maybe give the clutch a little more "feel" at engagement w/ a beefier TOB. Not asking for anything sports car minded but would be interesting to know what direction they'll take, though the most probable it seems is to just stick with the current series.

Should be the ZF 8 speed. Previous spy pics (link) showed the shifter from Challenger/Charger which uses an 8 speed by ZF.

Isn't that a semi-automatic / automatic transmission? So the JL's might have shift paddles on the steering wheel? I was hoping for more of a traditional clutch / long lever manual transmission with a little more refinement than the current six speed. Maybe one of the sport manuals used by BMW / Porsche would be stout enough. Paddle shifting is fun but just not the same as a stick.
