Where’s the love for CJs, oh, not a Wrangler!
There is a CJ5 running around my part of town. The thing looks more like a toy, it is so small.

My CJ5 didn't seem that tiny when I owned it back in 1980. But did I ever enjoy that Jeep. It was a blast! to drive.

Later JKs were very well-sorted.

The JL is objectively a better rig, but it introduced ESS, locker position sensor failure, a crap manual transmission, and seemingly porcelain wheel speed sensors.

If I were building an overlanding Wrangler for extended travel in foreign countries, I’d get the lowest-mileage late-model JK I could find.

TJ was simple, easy to work on, dead solid. JL is much “nicer” not sure how it’ll be 100k downrange.
