who buids them now?
FCA bringing it in-house , that previous 3-part contracted setup was too limiting.

However supposedly the Kuka and Mobis workers are guaranteed work in the JT/Scrambler plant, but the details are still a little unclear as to how the setup works once the JK contracts are over.

Porsche is the perfect match. Wrangler, GC & Scrambler would all thrive. $50 grand for a base model is nothing for the European Market. Engine options would be awesome, too

who buids them now? by the looks of the welds, maybe they need to re evaluate.
Seriously. It's making me SERIOUSLY rethink the JL decision.

A subpar frame with subpar welds is just unacceptable. It's truly said to see forumgoing enthuisiasts drop 50 grand on a Wrangler, way more than they ever should have, just to get hit with such shoddy quality. This shit was front page news with earlier Toyota Tacomas, and will be with this soon if it isn't stomped out.

My theory has been that the only reason the Wrangler is still a ragtop/windshield dropping/door-optional off-road beast is the fact that the company that owns Jeep is always a little too poor, a little too desperate, and so they NEED the Wrangler to be a halo vehicle.

Ford or Toyota don’t need Jeep to be successful, so there’s not the same pressure to keep to tradition. (Whether that means they wouldn’t buy Jeep in the first place is a separate question.)

Two thoughts. First, Jeep is a global brand, with Wrangler being the icon model. People who buy the non-Wranglers are mentally buying into the Jeep brand for all it’s hard core brand image. That’s pure marketing and Jeep is a very valuable global brand, so no car company would dilute the Jeep brand, it’s all about market segmentation. Secondly, there is no way FCA is selling Jeep in isolation, the remaining pieces, with the exception of the Ferrari brand, are still too weak for FCA to survive without their cornerstone brands, FCA needs scale to complete globally and they need more winners like Jeep and Ferrari. The real question is who will by FCA. The answer is no one, a Chinese attempt would be thwarted by the US government and someone like Tesla couldn’t as their stock price would collapse, buying a traditional car company is a radical change in strategy, that the current investors would resist and reject. FCA has only one option and that’s growth. They’ve done a remarkable job over the past 5 years, they just need to keep it going.

Hey Delorean was ahead of his time, think about it? Pablo Escobar could have bought GMC in the nineties if he had wanted to!

Well whoever is lucky enough to own my beloved brand of Jeep please immediately hire the one in charge of Mini's ordering process... their ordering status website is the best, IMO. Its up to date, provides not only humorous and accurate information but also includes links to videos that are appropriate for your particular status and follow thru right to the ship manifest. If Mini does this for a 45K cooper, surely Jeep can do this!

Ehh disagree on the Renegade part. I believe it’s basically the 4x4 version of the Kia Soul. A lot of people buy into the idea of a small city crossover and the Renegade adds a 4x4 system to the mix.
I think the issue with the Renegade is that it's essentially a Fiat, produced overseas alongside Fiat models. If Fiat is out of the picture, it's likely that the Renegade goes with them.

The corresponding Fiat model to the Renegade is the 500x. They're the same vehicle except for the styling cues for each company, and a more rugged AWD system for the Trailhawk Renegade.
