HI All - I'm about to buy a Batwing awning to go onto my Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform. I'm curious if people with this setup are going with the compact awning or the regular size version?

I have the full size and it has really good coverage for a vehicle of this size. I'd recommend going with that.

If weight is not a problem go with the full size. I have the compact and wish it was a bit bigger when deployed, but since I had to carry RTT this worked out.

Nice setup! The ikamper is the tent I just ordered. My only concern is the weight capacity of my rhino-rack pioneer platform, which is 190lbs. That’s what has led me to the compact awning.

I went with this one (LT/compact) and I really like it. It's a good fit for the wife and I. If you have even an inkling that you want more coverage don't question yourself, just do it.

I have pioneer platform with ikamper tent as well. Just received rhino compact batwing awning but don’t have time to mount it till the weekend. But looking at the brackets when you have your tent open does it hit the top of the awning? With the brackets upside down it still seems like it will be very close?

It is close, but it doesn't make contact. We have the RTT mounted slightly offset to the passenger side to ensure clearance.

From those of you running the compact, any long term feedback? Wish you had purchased the full size? Wondering how easy one is to remove vs. the other.

Just mounted my skycamp 3.0 on my pioneer platform with the recon deck brackets and bolts. It works, but I wish it didn’t have to sit so high off the platform. How did you mount your tent ?

Our Skycamp 2.0 is mounted to the crossbars on a Gobi Stealth rack. Or at least it used to be. Now it is mounted to the top of our Patriot X1N. Does that answer your question?

Sure. If I had 40k lying around I’d be right in line for a patriot. Sigh…..maybe someday
