Where to put front plate after winch install?

Installing winch on Jeep. In MN I need a front plate. Anyone know of a relocation kit for this?

I live in Mn also. Bought a JCR License plate bracket from Quadratec. Fits under fairlead and works great .

I have one on my CJ and like it so much that I bought another for my JL, even though I don’t have a winch yet. Maybe I jumped the gun?

You can get a flip up license plate bracket $23 on Amazon and works great, it also is offset about 1 inch so room for winch line to fit behind.

I'm planning on tossing it in the glove box. Since they don't bother ticketing people with expired plates or 2 year old temp tags around here, I'm going to gamble it...

If you have a wire winch like I do and a roller fair lead. You can get ones that either clip onto the left and right rollers or if your fairlead supports it mounts under the bolt for right and left roller and is spring flip up.

Maximus 3 also makes one that sit under the fair leads both straight down and tilted back to somewhat follow the skid.

Warn's winch plate for the factory Rubicon steel bumper comes with a filler panel that a front plate can be installed. No front plates required in Arizona, though.

I used the flip up bracket along with the factory piece and mounted it just above the fair lead with a couple rubber clamps to the grill guard

The problem with the flip up is if you had the hook there it would not fall down. It’s not offset enough

I relocated mine to the inside of the trunk. Gonna roll the dice and hope I don’t get a grumpy trooper here in Ohio until next July when the front plate requirement is lifted. I figure if I get pulled over, I’ll just tell him/her that I just installed the winch and Amazon hasn’t delivered the bracket yet.

Thats true, i see cars all over St. Louis with expired temp tags and i kept my front plate in my glove box for two years in my last car with no issues.

This is the Maximus-3 Stealth front plate bracket. It uses the 3 center skid plate bolts as it's mounting point, and comes with both standard hardware and wing nuts for the choice of being able to just leave it there or quickly take it off without tools for going off road.
