It's come to be known that the Gladiator's cooling was improved, and one of the items from that was a wider insert on the grille mesh. Anyone with any ideas on where to get this? Sounds like a simple swap.

I’m thinking either your local dealer, someone here or from a mopar site, such as allmoparparts

Let me know if you find it and it’s a good easy swap

This article (https://www.addictivedesertdesigns....gladiator-the-most-capable-midsize-truck-ever) states that the JT grill slots are wider, so I am assuming the inserts are wider also and likely would not fit in a JL/JLU grill. I recall seeing somewhere that the JT grills themselves are the same size as the JL/JLU grills, so if you are looking to upgrade a JL/JLU, that would be an option.

Thanks for this. Other reviews only mentioned the wider mesh. But if this was worth changing, and OEM’s rarely change if they don’t have to... I may just get one.

I read this same article about the wider slots for the Gladiator grill.

I have a 2018 JL Rubicon with the 2.0 turbo motor and have purchased a mesh grill replacement insert (American flag). However, it has much smaller holes for air passage so after reading this article I got concerned that the smaller holes could impact the engine operating temp. - especially on this turbo motor.

Has anyone had a problem with replacement grill inserts and engine temperature?

Not an engineer, but worked on enough vehicles that it’s never a good idea to block airflow to the radiator. I think those grills do exactly that.

Your local dealership parts department, you can get them to give you the part number then search online if it’s cheaper.
