Every vehicle I've owned in the last 15 years have had a hard plastic door pocket that I clipped my holster on as if it was my belt. This net thing door pocket is just to flimsy to hold it up. So.... Looking for opinions.
In Texas, we just hang it on the rear-view mirror!

Great question... I am curious as well. In my current vehicle, I keep it under the driver's seat. I have my LTC, but ANYONE can carry it in their vehicle in Texas as long as it's concealed. It's almost expected that you carry. In fact, I think you'll get a ticket if you DON'T have a gun! Lol!

This prehistoric artifact lives in my front pants pocket. If I have pants on, it’s there.

This too. Just like the gun, it’s lifesaving equipment. And it hides the gun to boot.

Lol! I’m old too I guess. I have your prehistoric artifacts cousin (642), in my pocket right now.

Mine is a Model 38 Airweight Bodyguard. Made in 1987. I bought it new.

Aliengear Shapeshift holster with 4 little screws. Works perfectly.

I did end up relocating it closer to the driver seat so the gun is fully concealed next to my right leg when the doors are off.

It obviously doesn't stay in the holster when I leave the vehicle. It goes on my body.

Going to bump this. Seemed like the most general gun storage thread.

Anyone use the rear storage cubby as a gun storage? Thinking about shelling mine out with some gun foam to put a rifle and pistol in there. I’m trying to think of a way to hide it with a piece of wood or metal over it then throwing in some tools on top of that. I EDC so almost always have a pistol on my side. This would be more for going out of town and SHTF situations.

I thought about that too. What rifle do u have that will fit in there? I was thinking about measuring the storage area to see if a Kel Tec sub-2000 would fit.

that’s exactly what I’m planning to put in there in a .40 caliber that way I toss in 4 magazines and try to fit a Springfield XD subcompact in the smaller cubby area of the storage area. I’m going to try an AR pistol but don’t think there’d be enough space for it. Found some foam on amazon but it is a little pricey. I’ll pick some up next week and give it a shot.

Absolutely - like a child, you should never leave a gun unattended in a vehicle.

I store all my guns in a locked safe - at home.

The police officers in Minneapolis are living proof that our lives can change in a nano-second due to an error in judgment. [isn't that the understatement of the year]. The chance of my doing something life-ruining with a firearm is hopefully remote, but it's certainly way more likely than being attacked while I'm out and about and needing a gun.

The Georgia father/son who killed the black jogger are a very recent example of the potential repercussions of carrying in your vehicle. They just so happened to have guns with them. Bet that put a crimp in their day.

I've been a gun owner for 44 years, and I live in a no-permit concealed carry state, but my guns are all for sporting purposes. In fact, I've shot sporting clays, and hunted quail not far from where the Georgia jogger was murdered.

Be careful out there guys.

I use a CMM mount with ram ball mount that replaces the bolt cover. Also use the alien shapeshifter holster.
