Careful about splicing directly into any factory wiring harnesses. Don't know if you have seen this tow harness yet? It is plug and play. NO splicing at all.

I got the Rugged Ridge hitch and wiring harness. It’s really simple and it’s plug and play. I installed it on a bracket to the left of the tow hitch.

Oh, nope I already have that installed This was simply for the bracked installation underneath.

I got the Rugged Ridge hitch and wiring harness. It’s really simple and it’s plug and play. I installed it on a bracket to the left of the tow hitch.

Can you post a pic? That steel looks pretty thick. I am wondering if you used some sort of self threading screws etc.

I zip tied it around the rear bumper cross member. It’s a Reese’s hitch wiring bracket from Walmart. You screw the two pieces of plastic together to hold the plug in place.

Here is mine. All wires tucked away and CLEAN looking Didn't take me that long at all. I used 2 self drilling screws for the mount. Easy peasy.

I relocated mine oem plug to under backside of the rear bumper support. originally was in the stock location but smacked it on a rock enough to deform the mount and not be able to open it

before i bought my 2018 JLU i watched a Video of the guy at CJ off road installed a Mopar Hitch wiring and the Aux buttons and went holy crap i am so paying the extra 495 for that to be factory installed.

Rugged Ridge hitch and since i don't have the LED lights and my utility trailer is for yard work and my small boat i got a 9 dollar Uhaul wiring kit. took me an hour to complete

Native Michigander here. This was the most protected location i could come up with. Maybe the most difficult to install too... Measure carefully and the wiring will enter the open end of the frame tube and can be routed up thru the storage bin drain. Tom
