When you take the kick panel off, there is a ground stud at the bottom of the body.

Yes, that has to be removed to get to a lot of stuff for thee install as well as the panel above it.

Then you can move the door electrical cable and run the wires thru the firewall. That is a lot of fun..... LOL

There is an unused ground point behind front passenger kick panel. Use it.

After you wired an accessory, did it work “out of the gate” or did you have to go to the dealer to have something done through UConnect?

I installed LEDs under my seats and wired the positive to the AUX4 switch wire and then grounded the black on the same bolt shown in this thread....and the lights aren’t working with the Jeep running and the AUX4 button pressed. Any guesses/advise?

I took off the side dash panel and ran it up there. Nice grounds in there and no paint scraping.

Sounds like your ground may be the problem. Did you clear paint from that ground point. You can try a different grounding point.

Did you install Aux or was it installed at the factory?

If you installed the unit yourself, I believe you have reflash the computer for anything to work.

For the sake of possibly mixing up a wire... did you try the other switches to see if any of them turn your lights on?

Factory installed the aux (luckily I drew the budget line just after the tow package option and leather seats and before the heated seats and alpine system). Ha

I think the ground is the problem since the screw is painted and I did not scrape it! Thanks so much.....didn’t think about that! I’m gonna go try it right now....at midnight.....because I have resolution complexes and am curious now ha.

Yep, tried all the switches, except for one that apparently doesn’t work and needs a warranty call. But that was aux 2 and would have been a bigger wire.

So, I take it that scraping the paint off the ground solved your issue? I’m the same way... going out in the middle of the night to try something. Lol

Just tried that....twice....and same issue. So no, not resolved. I would hate to pull the wire back out and open it and test it just to find out it is a faulty product. Maybe I should try another ground spot. Do you have an easy one you can recommend just to see if it works?
