I know about the two in the sound bar, but after searching, I never found a definite answered on if there are indeed two other mics, and where they are. Thanks!

Just to document my findings. The two mics in the headline are the only ones that deal with ANC. Once they are unplugged, any interference with an aftermarket amp is gone.

I had heard or read about that feature before the JL went into production. I wasn't sure it actually made it.

If it does anything to cancel out noise, I think it is peeing in the ocean. But I'd still be interested to know if it is indeed present and what it actually accomplishes. Maybe it is just to make hands free talking more clear?

It is tied to engine rpm, and creates a polarizing sound opposite of the engine noise. It cancels it out. But it also interfears with powered amps and subs, causing massive distortion. As far as I know it is only installed in 2.0's with the premium Alpine system.

Ok, good to know. I've got the 3.6 with Alpine and I have always felt like there was nothing going on with that. Thank you!
