Hey everyone. What's the deciding factor on when it's needed to upgrade axleS?

If it helps, I have a 2019 Rubcon JLU with a Terflex 2.5" S/T2 lift with Falcon 3.1s and 37" tires. Winch, roof rack & tent, side steps, etc. (so I've added a decent amount of weight).

Thanks for the guidance.

Run them until they break.

If you have the money, why wait? Do it now and sell the stock Rubicon axles.
Would rather not drop the money quite yet if possible. But also don't want to break them when off-road. Is there really that much added stress that they are prone to breaking?

yes but you can always upgrade the axle shafts to chromoly 4340 for a few hundred bucks that will help and you can truss the dana 44's and it should last a long time unless you're rock bouncing

I've wheeled quite a bit on 37" BFG KM3s and haven't had any issues. If this were a JK, I'd probably be dealing with slight bends to the axles and certainly play to a wheel bearing or two by now. The JL axles definitely can take more abuse.

However, I am running KM3s which measure closer to 35.5" and I'm not landing my Jeep on things, so that probably helps, too.
