When does production start again?

Usually the estimated ship date is the build date. Not all vehicles make it through the plant in one pass. Some get flagged by QC for additional work, some get additional equipment added offline, they have rows of lines where they sit some that have started but get put on hold. Then when they are out the door they may be parked waiting for enough vehicles going to the same area are available before they go on transport. There are several large parking lots near the plant where they get parked.
The date closest to reality is the one when your dealer calls and says it arrived.
Also, D1, mine sat in D1 last year for 5 weeks before it was escalated and built.

I’ve heard it doesn’t mean much to have this date. I am just happy that it is progressing in some way. I hope we all get pleasantly surprised with a speedy delivery!

I am sure there were some half built that are getting finished up now. I’m hoping there weren’t many people ordering during the main quarantine time across the country. If that’s the case, maybe the backlog won’t be too crazy.

Anything’s possible. My build date is only a week before yours and I ordered mid-March.

Just got an update from my dealer. I’m in D1 status with estimated ship date of June 16.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My wife ordered hers two days after you but doesn't have a build date yet.

In my case, the sales manager and I got along well so he would give me an update whenever the status would change. Each morning when he got in he reviewed the status of all open orders. I know many dealers aren't that way. Also, in my case there was an executive customer manager at corporate that sent me emails when it hit the assembly line, when it went out the door, was loaded on a railcar and when it was delivered at the dealer before they even knew it was on their lot. Being a celebrity has perks.
I assume you can still use Jeep chat, once production really gets going, and get an update whenever you want. But they are often behind the actual process. I think there used to be a system you could pay a fee and get status updates whenever you wanted but they shut that down a few years ago. Your only other option is asking someone at the dealership. Once a week seems reasonable to me.

I bothered the dealer every week. They haven't completed the sale until you sign on the dotted line. They should be happy to help you.

Jeep chat will help you on the status although the answers you get will be somewhat erratic and inconsistent.

The worst(??) part of all this delay is how much it's cost me.

I (tried to) put in an order for a Willys the day they stopped accepting manual transmission orders. By the time they started again, I'd talked myself into a Rubicon.

Since the lock-down plant closure started, I've bought: front & rear bumpers, rails, cargo & console lockers, tailgate table, sun mesh cover, tonneau cover, side mirrors, bed rugs, . . .

I'm NOT looking at tires/wheels/lift yet but I have toyed with the idea of shopping for a winch.

As of yesterday my Jeep was in "Scheduling".

I think I have a problem.

I have the same issues. My den is full of new JL parts. And a winch etc. is out in the garage. This Jeep thing is pricey!

Well 2 workers at a Ford plant in Chicago just tested positive. They can do all they want at the plants but if workers don't take all precautions away from the plant then they will still get sick. That's the problem with the meat plants. Here there was a quinceanera party for a 15 year old girl that had a lot of people attend in violation of 10 person limit order. Dozens became infected at the party and several took it back to the meat plant where they worked.
Hopefully UAW doesn't panic over the 2 workers or there aren't any wildcat strikes by workers that shut the plants back down.
