I've been running some 1.5" RockTrix cheapie spacers from Amazon for 2 years.
I've been getting some weird vibes and shimmies, but I honestly don't know if the spacers were to blame or the crappy Milestar Pats. However I've had inexpensive spacers on my '07 F150 cause inexplicable shakes and it's common if you read up on wheel spacers.
Anyway I'm mounting up some new Geolandar MT's and decided to order some new Synergy 1.75" spacers, too. Incidentally, Northridge was awesome on the spacers - in stock and fast shipping.
Anyway, handling the Synergy spacers makes it apparent they definitely have more meat to them (aside from the obvious additional 1/4" thickness). The OD is larger, the lug nut holes aren't c-bored as deep (making for more meat for the lug nuts to compress against), and perhaps most importantly the hub centric ring is WAY more beefy.
Not surprisingly the Synergys weigh considerably more, and not all the extra weight is from the extra 1/4" thickness
Because I'm throwing on new spacers and rubber all at once (I don't have time to try the new rubber on the old spacers) I won't know what was causing my shakes, but I do feel better with the Synergys installed.
