I have been very interested in purchasing a light bar, however, do not want the common rectanglular LED bar that has become so common today. I am looking to go the more traditional route and mount a set of 4 KC Hitlites Gravity Pro6 LEDs instead. Problem is I haven’t be able to find an overhead bar for the windshield to mount to that is compatiable with the JL. The only options I can find are full size roof rack / baskets (such as the Gobi). I am looking to install a roof rack as well, but something that will be much more low profile (such as the Rhino Rack) and at a later date.

Has anyone completed an overhead light mod on their JL like this and what options have you found for mounting? I have seen the KC Pro6 full light bar (round) and do not want that many lights. Want to stick to the classic 4 look. Looking for anyone’s suggestions.

I'm with you, timbo, I want the same look without the crazy price tag. I think I may end up going the six light route. It still looks good, IMO. The pricing is just ridiculous though. Heck, I've considered building my own. The LED, heatsink, wiring, reflector and lens would cost far less than KC ripoffs charges

ya I honestly think the LED Light bars are just as douchebag looking as the Angry Bird Grills on Jeep. Just don't like them.

I had a 50 inch Rigid bar on my old Tacoma.

It was my most hated mod. Wind noise was ridiculous and it really added to driver fatigue. Never again.

ya. I really like your Lights on the factory bumper. looks clean and nice. Plus I honestly don't think LED's are a good technology in terms of lighting. They never last what they claim to last.

I don’t want to spend a ton of money but I do want quality. So whatever it takes to get that. I don’t mind buying the overhead mount and lights separately... doesn’t need to be a kit. The KC Gravity Pro6 pack of 2 LEDs (http://www.kchilites.com/light-type/led/gravity-led/6-pro-sport-gravity-led-pair-pack-system.html) are what I am interested in (would have to buy 2 pairs) and then attach to some third party overhead tube/bracket/windshield mount. That mount is what I’m currently looking for. Can’t seem to find one.

I also don’t really like the KC Pro6 roof rack, lights are set too far back on the roof.

Well, you could always take the lights to a machine shop and have them fabricate a bracket. I can't imagine it would be too $$
