Oof. The best jeep is the one you don't make payments on.
...
My financial planner and I just had this conversation with my wife. She wanted me to pay off my JLUR balance of ~25k @ 3.25%. I'd have to take out invested money to do it (since I'm pretty much permanently unemployed and have no SS or pension income) which is making about 10% so far this calendar year. I expect it will earn at least 15% and possibly much more this year. On average, I can beat the loan interest by well over double. That's my situation, but not everyone's..

So if you won the $5000 give away money from ExtremeTerrain.com what would you spend the money on to add upgrades to your Jeep?
What I wouldn't do, LOL .... So don't buy anything rough country unless it's a bumper or winch or led light, anything else for lifts and suspension should be Fox, that's usually what even the dealership uses and have very few problems. Oh and immediately change the steering box and the steering stabilizer, but let the dealership do the recall on it so you don't have to "jeep" just empty every pocket, lol.

Mopar soft top, and steel bumpers. Or Mopar half doors would be amazing.

Favorite way to drive my old soft top Jeep was with half doors and rear window rolled up.

Safari configuration and half doors would be used the most in my JLUR.

Full blown lift kit. The whole nine yards. Upper and lower control arms, springs, shocks, etc. Problem is, it would take me a month of research to figure out which kit.
Also a set of Ace sliders. That way my wife can get in the Jeep.

It seems that once slid to the rear, a Sky One Touch on a two door Jeep wouldn't provide any more open sky than would the removal of a hard top's Freedom Panels. That's the takeaway from the optic of a SOT on a JLU, where the retracted fabric covers the sum of the cargo area.
That's fine, and I would have the removable side windows of the hard top as well. The modular side windows, and a hardtop Sunrider would come closest , but no modular side windows on the horizon either for the 2 door.

I'd get 35'' tires and some skid plates and differential covers. Then the Jeep would be completed.. yeah right! Lol
