Future possibility #1:
It will be only available as a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and unfortunately be fully autonomous. Most vehicles will look very similar and those running on fossil fuels will be seen as vile and the drivers (if even allowed to drive on the road as they will mess with the automated traffic systems working with the autonomous vehicles) will be looked down upon.

Future possibility #2:
Complete anarchy has occurred in the early 2030's. The population is far smaller and tribes have formed. Of course there is fighting between tribes over land. Some tribes will harness technology (i.e. getting an old factory running or refining oil into a combustible fuel source) and this will give them power over those tribes without these capabilities.

I don't think you have to worry about autonomous driving in the next few decades. That's today's pie-in-the-sky equivalent of flying cars back in the 50's. People vastly underestimate how much driving even a halfwits unconscious brain is capable of -- our ability to build sensors and computer programs doesn't come close.

It'll still have an internal combustion engine as a throwback to the original Willys Go Devil engine. But, it'll be a small, gas-powered 1.0L turbocharged inline 3. This engine will only be used as a range extender for the BEV (battery EV) main powertrain. It will have a fully capable 4WD system consisting of 1 large electric motor for each wheel that allows large amounts of instantaneous torque and precise and sophisticated traction control. On-road, it will probably have substantial self-driving capabilities but not fully autonomous - I think self-driving modes will emulate auto-pilot, but still require a human to operate. The 100th anniversary edition will still be offered with a removable hard top/soft top but by this point, safety regulations have rendered the folding windshield and removable doors impractical.

The range-extender engine will only be permitted to operate in certain zones outside of urban/high population density areas due to pollution controls - so really it'll just be used on long-distance or off-road trips.

Unfortunately, there will not be a 100th anniversary Wrangler. By that time, Jeep will only be making the fully electric solar powered Grand Wagoneer hover-glide edition. It will ride on mag-lev levitation and cost somewhere in the range of $1.4 million due to inflation and labor shortages due to covid still being a thing. On the bright side, you will still be able to order it in Sting-Gray.
