I ordered a set of @JcrOffroad Crusader sliders thanks in part to pictures from @IPvFletch :like:
I'm trying to decide if I want to keep them all black, or do the slider portion to match my wheel. What do you guys think?
Excuse the crappy photochops, the actual sliders should be here monday.

LOL!! Wow, well, I got looking before I read "...excuse the Photoshop" :cwl: so I kind of glanced first and thought they looked good, although the white line/reflection looked odd.. then I saw you are just playing with the look right now and don't have them on yet - haha ok cool, well good on you for doing this, I often use Photoshop to try something before I do it too. If you know how, it can save a lot of trouble!

Well it looks like they will be a winner on your rig too my man. I can't wait to see the finished product.

The red highlights look good on the sliders. Maybe do a little less, more like a stripe or some kind of design perhaps.

So what did you conclude about the LA kit, will it interfere? It looks like a lot of folks weld the brackets parallel to the frame, which should not interfere then, but I guess yours is welded to the outside edge of the frame? Either way, seems like you have the right shop/tools to figure it out and make it work. #superjealous :involve:

Looking forward to the next update!!

how far below the stock rails do the ace engineering sit? I"m trying to determine the actual step height. Getting into the rubicon in a skirt is impossible without looking like a jackass.
Just to close the loop. The top of the ace sliders is about 18-1/2” off the ground. The standard step in sill height is about 25-1/2’” @LLRubylady

Have you received your LOD rock sliders yet? I ordered mine on December 27th and I've been told that they should arrive by January 30th. :bandit:
It took a long time, i ordered on 11/23 and got them a week before christmas

Amazon has definitely spoiled us... Waiting for a month seems unreasonable and like an eternity. :cwl: So how are you liking them? Do they make a reasonable step?

I really like the look and the function they provide, as for use as a step I thought I would use it more than I do. I find myself leaping in and sliding out more often then not. I will say they are solid and when I do use them as a step I have to watch so I dont smack my head.
I think the total weight was 136lbs and would recommend using a jack to assist with install. I didn't have one and was sore for a few days, not use to all that manual labor. Lol

Received my JCR Crusader sliders today. Many these things are beefy/heavy! I don't think my powder coater is going to be very happy with me when I drop them off.
Now I have to find the time to modify them to clear my long arm kit...

You are replacing the Roam steps with these?

Just added the Ace rock rails last week. I’d say you have to step about 6 inches lower to get in while holding the grab handle. Definitely makes it easier. My wife likes them too. If you want to know exactly what the height is above the ground let me know and I’ll measure tonight.

You may want to consider power assist steps. The guy I bought my used Ace rails from bought those because it gives you a very nice step to get in with?m, and then retracts when you close the door. They’re pricy, like between $1700 and $2k

Thank you. I am considering the power steps. I cringe when I think about the money, plus the cost to install. These look like a nice affordable alternative.
