Light bar. They are obnoxious and make the ride quality horrible. Pod lights are the way to go.

In reference to the antenna, I almost changed it out. Now I'm glad I didn't. In the end I figured out two things.

One, I can stream radio, if needed.
Two, honesty the last time I listened to the radio GW Bush was in office.

The other two mods that almost got me were the angry grill and halos. I was excited to install both, then I came to my senses.

All the other "mods" I've done I enjoy 100%.

That said, Hazel is still basically stock with only functional upgrades.
Full LED lighting, front Weathertechs, TAC sidesteps, hitch, DD seat covers, Tazer, BlueDriver and her name badge is the extent of it.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe the noise is considered ride quality now?
Yeah, I'm guessing that perhaps increased wind noise might be the culprit here.

20x12 -44 offset on 35s.

It looked real nice. But once I got into more difficult trails. They were not as capable as a smaller wheel / bigger tire.

How would a light bar affect ride quality?

The light bar catches the wind and yanks you all over your lane if it is even the least bit windy out. Even on regular days it causes a ton of drag surprisingly.

Jeeps aren't aerodynamic, however the ride quality decreases greatly with a light bar above the window.

I would think that it depends on the light bar. I've been considering baja designs s8 which looks pretty sleek...bummer if was really noisy on the road though

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
I wish that I would not have so much money into a Dana 44. I just can not seam to keep it working. I have had 4 locker issues, and three pinion seals, one twisted axle, been re-geared twice, because I ripped two teeth off the pinion gear.

It is going back into the shop on Wednesday to see why the locker is not functioning again. I have bought two complete Dana 44 rear axle assemblies because I was unable to buy a specific part that I needed. I have to be close to $8000 in a Dana 44 axle right now before it goes into the shop on Wednesday.

In a joking way, I want to kill muse over this fucking rear end. Don't worry, I don't need the suicide hotline number yet. The fucked up thing is it does this shit right before I leave to go wheel somewhere off in some distant state.

At least it has never left me stranded.

I wouldn't do the bubble paint on the hinges and door bottoms.
I do it under warranty. Once that runs out, if I decide to keep the Jeep, I will probably just get aftermarket doors, hinges, etc... lol
I won't spend my money trying to fix something that can't be fixed.

Hey Ted,

I assume the part you needed was the Locker sensors? The warranty on my Jeep JUST ended a few weeks ago and I got the dreaded "Service Axle Lockers" message yesterday.

I heard you can now order the sensors without needing to get an entirely new axle, do you know if that's true? I also JUST replaced my diff fluid (and covers) 2000 miles ago so don't really feel like opening it all up again if I can't get the sensors.

P.S. Loved the road trip journal thread! I followed it daily.
