For me, it was a combination of Jurassic Park and Tomb Raider at first. Then it was actually riding in a friend's Jeep in college. So much fun!

Decided to randomly rent a Jeep on turo which was lifted and blah blah blah out in Colorado and we drove around that state. A week before we flew out I decided we could to Moab since it was only 2hrs from fruita Colorado and that was a place we planned on going (wanted to go to the Colorado national monument). Long story short Moab was so much fun we ended up only spending the night in fruita before going out to Winter Park, spending all of that extra time out in Moab. 8 months later or so I traded in my grand Cherokee for the Wrangler. No ragrets.

Late 60's to early 70's and the cool kid on the block had a Jeep. I found a beaten up CJ when I was 16 and fixed it. My friends and I had some great times in that Jeep. Always wanted a TJ but it was time for family cars. Raised the kids and then bought a JK. Now I'm retired and in the JL. I've always loved the Jeep. Not to mention that my dad had a tool and die shop that made parts for AMC so Jeep put food on the table.

One ride in my buddy's JL with doors and top off. I couldn't shut up talking about it and my daughter reminded me that she always wanted a Jeep. Well, that was settled, I bought her a Jeep, and I get to drive it whenever the gas light is on!

20+ years ago when i was privileged with my parents asking me what I wanted as my 1st vehicle, Jeep was the 1st word out of my mouth.

It didn't happen because they went car shopping and fell in love with something more sporty ('96 Acura integra SE).

All the cool kids had Jeeps, and then the rich kids had the tricked out jeeps. Part of me wanting the jeep is because my rich best friend got the newer edition of the Discovery that came out in the 90, and we always talked about going wheeling behind the high school.

Now I drive a Jeep, that is obviously HEAVILY inspired by the Defender series with a lot of Jeep age-old influences, and my friend is actually angry at Land Rover for not listening to the enthusiast crowd and instead chasing the really high margin $$$$ instead of releasing limited numbers of (pick year) style Defenders each year as a special edition and rake the money in that way, in addition to their elite enthusiast crowd.

My old TJ that sort of just fell into my lap right as I was coming of age. Had to rebuild nearly the whole damn thing to get it running, but because of that old Jeep, I have never owned a vehicle other than a Wrangler.

1979? I was 16 years old, hitchiking on Long Island. Not sure where I was going but I do remember being picked up in a brown Jeep with the Eagle decal on the hood (Golden Eagle was the model I believe), top down, doors off, music blasting, staring at the night sky. I was likely under the influence of "something" so maybe it never really happened. After that ride I always said I would get a Jeep. Bought a new YJ in 1989. TJ in 1998. JL in 2018.
