Our Jeep is our do-anything vehicle from snowpocalypse to beach cruiser; if I could only figure out how to mount all of our boards on top with the soft top. I have two boys and they have totally bought into the lifestyle and even my wife (who totally disliked my TJ loves the JLUR). Definitely my daily driver but plan on doing more over landing and some off roading since we are close enough to Rausch Creek and will eventually head west. We just got back from a snowy adventure in Vermont and we were definitely not struggling the way others were in the deep snow. We have a couple of camping trips up and down the east coast on the horizon too. I've loved Jeeps as long as I can remember and honestly, the best thing about this is it is a total bonding experience with my family every time we go somewhere in a way that other cars were not.

Hello All. As I been slowly adding Mods to my Jeep I have been wondering Why do you build your jeep for you.
Are you a Hard core rock crawler
Maybe A Mud Bogger.
Or even a shinny Mall crawler.
I myself Have started gaining more interest in the Overland Long Distance travel on mild to medium conditions.
This year I would like to explore Canada overland maybe even get a little travel trailer for some remote camping.

Anyways just late night rambling here so If you like post a pic of your jeep and a little about why you do what you do with it.

I’m a retired 70 year old Eagle Scout that still loves camping. Planning on doing some Overlanding in my 2019 JLUM. No rock crawling and the JL is my daily driver, so the Moab clicked all my boxes. Only needed to add the cold weather and towing packages. Got a good deal on swapping the KMs for KO takeoffs.

Not where I want to be just yet....

We stumbled into rock crawling, and had a blast, and that's saying a lot when our 13 year old daughter enjoyed going. (Of course for all of us, it's not just the activity, which I love, but it's the people we met and go with that absolutely make it.) Years ago we did light trails, things like that but that was in Illinois. These days we live in Texas, have some excellent places to go nearby, and some worthwhile trips within reasonable drive distances....plus back then the cost of getting a Jeep ready to do more just wasn't in the picture, so our Cherokee didn't have a whole lot done to it.

While it's as stock as stock can be today, dropped it off this weekend, as parts are starting to come in (have been on order for quite awhile) and I'm hoping in the next 2-3 weeks it'll be the rig that I want it to be, and I'll be doing everything that I want to do. Top picture is is having been dropped off, and it won't look anything like that in a few weeks. Bottom picture is out in front of the shop/clubhouse, and I love the signpost because those are all places that I'm looking forward to going, seeing, and sharing some adventures with family and friends.

I don't really cast myself into any category. I consider the jeeps my do whatever I feel like on a given day vehicle. The only thing I can't really do is drag race them.

I drive my jeep with a soft top year round. Even in winter storms and sometimes get a nice surprise when it starts to snow inside!

Did you have your top opened? I have never had any of my tops (soft and hard) leak.

My first car was a 59’ CJ5. 3rd car was a 48’ CJ2A. They were tons of fun and that’s how I learned about off reading and fixing cars (they do go together). Now I have my new Rubicon and we love it. Its my daily driver and our weekend SUV. With the exception of a few trails, there’s nothing I’ve drive my Jeep on that couldn’t be handled with my old CRV, but really? Hoping to get out of Florida to some mountain trails and maybe out to the Southwest behind the RV.

Hmm, I have never had mine out in crazy winds like that. Maybe in 30-40 mph winds while driving. But over this past weekend, I kept both Jeeps in the garage. If it does continue to leak, I'd take it in.

The Front Bumper is from Roam Offroad. I love it. It was an easy install, came with the winch plate and front skid plate. It is made in the US and has a lifetime warranty. I am waiting for the rear bumper/tire carrier to be available for purchase from Roam. . This is their web site:

http://www.roamoffroad.com

They also have a facebook page. I have found them very easy to deal with and have done most of my interactions with them via facebook messenger.

I also have their side armor steps. They were super easy to put and and very stout.

I see a lot of Wranglers pushing motorhomes. They must have really strong engines

Trail/great outdoor explorer. I hate even saying "overlanding" because that word is so misused and abused.

I pick 10 days and a state. I have no destination each day. I drive trails alone. I camp on the trail wherever I may be. I drive home after 10 days.
