I managed to find a single wire going nowhere when I was on the hunt for the AUX switch bundle under the glove compartment. This wire is also under the dash but close to the passenger door kick panel.

That is used to wire up the passenger ejection seat device. Seriously tho, I do not appear to have that on mine.

Oh, that’s the alternate dimension activation wire. Just pull it…

You remind me that I wanted to trace down that same wire myself...

For what it is worth - when I was fishing around for my interior bundle, I found it tucked down behind the carpet on the left side of the passenger wheel well.

That activates the other 4 cylinders in your 2.0/ other 2 cylinders in your 3.6.

Jeep is secretly giving us all V8s, but you have to also have a TazerJL to override the computer.

It's true. Ask anyone...

All kidding aside that is the “brake signal wire” for a trailer brake controller.

That's really good to know! Now wondering why it is located where it is?

Every Jeep has that wire in the passenger footwell. Jeeps with the Tow package have a connector in the drivers footwell with a connector for a brake controller. The wire will be dark green with a white stripe.

Any aftermarket controller will have a “brake signal wire” input wire which you connect to that wire.

Thanks Greg, I do have the tow package and want to eventually set up for a lightweight trailer being that my rig is a 2dr.

I installed a brake controller in my last JLUR and didn't use that wire. Just standard connectors. I didn't, however, have a chance to verify that it was all working before the Jeep got squished between four other vehicles on the interstate.

I’m guessing you had the tow package and the connector in the drivers footwell. See the diagram posted above. The connector is taped up way up in footwell.
