It's a decoy put there by the actual cluster dimmer wheel. So when you actually want to dim the instrument cluster, there is no possible way of making contact with the actual dimmer wheel. You spin it a few times and then give up convinced nothing in life is going right. Dimmer wheel wins.

No to dimming cup holder lights, tested last night. And my sport doesn't have footwell lights.

Can anyone tell me what the dimmer knob on the left controls? The one on the right is for the brightness of the instrument gauges, but what is the one on the left? I couldn’t find it in the manual.

If you're sitting in your Jeep on a dark night you'll only really notice the little lights that are in your door handles dimming.

I changed out those little lights to brighter green ones (too match my mojito jeep), and now the dimmer is more effective.

I just discovered this round thing that sticks off the dash in my face when I sit in the driver's seat. WTH is this thing? It's sooooo round and bulky, yuk.

OK OK on a serious note that little wheel is for when you are off roading and you go over rocks. As you start to climb up on the rock scroll the wheel up a little bit and it will help the Jeep roll up on to the rock. Good luck!!

On a serious note the only way to get that stupid wheel to work is to look directly into the sun while turning it. Give it a shot and please post your results.
