I noticed this the other day on my JLUR. The cable had electrical tape on it and must have been attached to other wires below the glove box. The cable appears to have caps on the ends so it doesn't seem to have been hooked up to anything. The other end does go into a box below the glove box. I am assuming it is for the electronic brake control. Any ideas!!

I thought that the aux wires were ran into the engine compartment? So when I add a winch, I would run the cables from the winch to these?

thanks

If you hook up a winch to aux buttons you will need a large relay, in between, probably 500 amps.

There are terminals in the engine compartment as well. You wouldn't hook your winch up to either one without a relay. These buttons have a 40amp draw max.

I connected my winch in/out control to aux wires as they draw less than .5 amp. The main winch wires straight to battery terminals with a 500 AMP fuse.

I also think that there is a ignition and constant hot in that bundle that aren't tied to the AUX switches.

Wait a minute... I thought the AUX wires terminated under the hood by the fuse box?

They give you the option to have under hood power like a winch, lights, or compressor and in cab options like CB, radar detector, ect...

Last I had read in the specs, two terminate under dash on passenger side, and two terminate under the hood.

Aux switches have 4 connectors inside and out.
The interior aux wire bundle also include a constant on and ign. on fused power wires.

For those interested there is also an available/unused, grounding terminal behind the passenger footwell kick panel. See pic.

Because I’m a little slow and I hate electrical....
question-I want lights that I could connect behind my Jeep to see my kayak at night while loading it up with my fishing stuff and obviously I don’t want them connected to my reverse lights. Could I connect them to the (pos)red/white wire “direct to battery” and ground the black(neg)wire? That would allow me to just flip the switch to keep the lights on while I load up my yak!?
