I think it was for exercising on or kids play area maybe? It fits together like puzzle pieces, I will take some pics later. All put together the pieces form a perfect 8’x4’ area so it was destiny.
Going to turn the rubber matting upside down (it’s black. Mounting of hoist and pulleys (if I end up using them TBD. I will manually unhook one side of loft from chains so that its hanging vertically from ceiling & back Jeep in. Lift the top off & while suspended by hoist higher than loft I will manually hook loft back to chains from the ceiling. Then drop hardtop onto loft. No load pressure anywhere on the hardtop was my goal during storage.

Finally got around to continuing my hoist tonight. Probably going to make the hole wider as I realized tonight that I didn’t give myself much room to service or replace hoist in the future. Track will not be center but I suppose I can live with it. I plan to drywall, tape, and float the channel.

The rail and trolley is used for sliding barn doors. Below are the links (hope they work) of what I used. Since my shelf/loft hangs down from the ceiling about 40 inches which thought was going to be very tight, I opted to hang the rail in the attic which gave me another half a foot to work with. Depending on how you hang the rail there are a few different brackets you can use. My Topsy brackets came in today so hopefully I’ll be able to test everything out soon.

Disclaimer. This is in no way the least expensive way to build a hoist.
