What is the factory window tint on JLUR

Was there a standard tint factor for the hardtop JLUR 2018? Coding on the mfg label to be deciphered?

Yes, there is. Sahara and Rubicon get standard tinted rear windows on both hardtops and soft tops.

Yes, there are standards, and yes the windows tell you.

Front windows are 70% from the factory.

Notice on left side, very bottom it has printed "TRANSP. 70% MIN."
This means the windows transmit a minimum of 70% of the visible light. The lower the number the darker the tint.
The rear windows will have similar markings. IIRC they are 20%, but I can't find the stamps now because I put 20 over top of the factory ting bringing them down to about 4% (rear only, my fronts allow 45% VLT).

I’ve been told it’s 20% but provides no UV protection, so I put 20% up front then another 20% on top of factory in back.

I bought used from a Jeep dealership. It was tinted dark and already inspected. They redid the inspection on a service visit without being asked...really were just being nice. Today I went to a state inspection joint and they failed me. Numbers were 17% front and 1% rear . The inspector asked if I had an idea where that it was done. For once “it Juan Mee”.
I wasn’t just thrilled with the back being so dark anyway. I guess it’s gonna be a redeaux

Wow that's dark. Sounds like they put 25% on the front and 5% on the back to get you to those tested levels. IMHO that's excessive, even with no tint from the factory.

Probably looks amazing though.
