What is the box to the left behind the glove box

Hi,

I want to install a UFH radio to my JLUR ( right hand drive ) and was curious to know what is the small box to the left behind the glove box and can I install the controller to this with a small screw?

Rather then using a screw, use Velcro brand heavy duty fasteners .. Holds 10 lbs.. Industrial Strength Stick.
