The window sticker should list it in the same line with the motor. It will either say 2.0 with ESS or 2.0 with BSG. ESS utilizes the standard starter motor for both cold starts and stop/start events, and has a secondary 12v battery under the fuse panel. BSG utilizes the standard starter motor for cold starts and the Belt Start Generator for s/s events, and has a 48v secondary battery located on the inside of the driver's side frame rail next to the rear driveshaft. So that is the little one underneath the fuse box, right?
Thanks....order it next week. I can ask Dealer too. They have really changed things up year to year for the JLThe window sticker should list it in the same line with the motor. You could also peak under there. I have the 2.0 w/ BSG. Heres a pic of the 48v battery and its skid plate. If you have ESS, there will just be a void there.
When I ordered my 2021 2.0T last autumn, the 48V/BSG configuration wasn't available. That option was evident when reviewing the 2020 Wrangler build page, which was still available at the time. The specs were in fact on the website, according to model year.Do I have two batteries? Main and AUx or will it have the 48v battery. Lame of Jeep to not spec out these things on their website or at least make it easy to find.
So confusing. I have a 2021 2.0 with tow and winter package. I have a group 94r battery. Jeep's vehicle configurator webpage has been known to change during the course of the model year. A recent and good example of this was the addition of the Dual Door Group option. This wasn't yet offered when I built and ordered my JLU.
With the foregoing in mind, and provided the aforementioned BSG option hasn't reappeared, the 2021 2.0s will have two 12V batteries: one main Group 48 (and visible), and one small hidden battery used for ESS events.
