could it be your brake booster or whatever it's called? I know the booster is controlled electronically and is not ran by the vacuum from the intake manifold. I hear it now and then especially at a drive thru. I can try to get a recording tomorrow.

UPDATE:

Took the Jeep to the dealer.....the tech who worked on it....had heard the noise when I called to make an appointment....the morning I drove to the dealer...the noise started up...but when I stopped for another appointment...the system apparently reset itself..so by the time I got to the dealer there was no high frequency hum. They contacted Chrysler......the tech did a hard reset of the Jeep...disconnecting the battery,...and touching the leads together...they checked the wiring...and did a firmware upgrade......so far the hum has not returned.....but there is no set timeframe when the noise might start....so I will wait and see...

I have a 2019 Wrangler Sahara turbo....with 1700 miles. I have been experiencing the same high frequency hum....At first it would hum until I shut the jeep off....it did this maybe 4 times....today the hum started again its continual. It does not matter what I set the Nav screen too....radiom heater, GPS etc...the hum is still there. When I shut the vehicle off....the hum continues until the vehicle completely shuts down. I contacted the jeep dealer 45 miles away. I have to wait until Wed....today is Thurs......the hum is so bad that its impossible to drive the jeep. Its not a radio related problem since if I shut the radio completely off the hum continues.

I have an noise issue as well. I wouldn't call it a hum though. It's a high pitched noise. The noise is coming from the center screen on the main instrument cluster. When this screen is off there is no noise. Opening a door powers up the screens, but the speedo and tach come on 1.5 seconds before the center screen between the. No noise till the the center screen is powered up. I took it to the dealership and got zero help. They also broke the dash in a few spots. The noise isn't super loud but is very annoying. I did some investigation on my own and found that all JLs on the dealers lot had the same noise issue. I would like for others to verify this and complain. Its clear the screen or instrument clusters is defective. I just want to be able to be in my Jeep in peace without this toxic noise.

Mine is not radio...or heater motror etc related....after the dealer did a hard reset on the jeep and upgrade the firmware..I was hoping the noise would stop.....but it came back....so I will call the dealer back..the dealer is not sure where the problem is coming from....but even with everything off...to include the radio....heater...AC...etc...it will still make noise...its similar to the sound you get when you have a back up camera and you are backing up and someone or something comes into the camera lens.....but again...even stopped it can make the noise..

Funny, I’m not having this problem on my jeep, but my wife is currently having this problem in her BMW 135i. It’s definitely something with the entertainment system and her car at least.

A mechanic stethoscope may help locating the source of the sound.

It’s something the jeep guys and Chrysler had not seen before...

Since it was at the jeep dealer...it has had the issue once....it will continue until I shut the jeep off...sometimes when I start the jeep...the sound is gone...other times it continues..it’s so loud u can hardly drive the vehicle...the mechanic that heard the noise over the phone..could not believe how loud it was....it’s similar to the sound u get if u r backing up..and the sensor picks up another car etc...but the frequency is slightly different than the problem hum.

I have a weird problem going on with the jeep. I'm currently 8 hrs in an 11 hr drive. The trip has been very windy but that is about all. My jl started making a metal on metal noise when I go from 70 mph and slow down in the front driver side wheel. Then once I get to a complete stop the noise will stop and not start up again till I get back up to speed. The noise is in my driver side wheel. I've stopped multiple times to look at it. I can hear it when I slow, and when I hit bumps and sometimes turn the wheel. Every thing seems to be working fine. I thought at first maybe a rock got lodged in between the pads and rotor but I hear it when I hit a bump and turn the wheel. It's weird that it will completely stop when I'm driving through the city but once back to 70 mph and then down I hear it. Any suggestions? I will be taking into dealer but there isn't one open till Tuesday. Sorry this is wordy. I also just spent my first night in the jeep!
Any update on this? I was on a long trip yesterday and started getting intermittent vibration at 50+’ish mph. Could also ghear a metallic grinding when driving next to the concrete median barriers on the interstate. When I stopped and checked underneath the front driveshaft was hot to touch and the transmission (manual) was almost as hot as the oil pan. It does this every time I drive and get up to the 50 mph mark.

And this is only 3 weeks after getting it back from having a rusted throw out bearing replaced on a 22K mile JL.

I had the same issue and resolved it by pulling the fuse for the radio and then put it back in. It's been a couple of weeks and the sound has not returned. Immediately after I did this procedure the temp control would not adjust on the climate control. This went away after a couple of engine restarts. No further problems. These things have gotten so complicated with electronics that even the dealers don't know what to do in many cases. Trial and error....

Got this same issue--did you have any luck fixing or even identifying cause? Took mine into a dealer twice and they said they couldn't hear it.

Pull the radio fuse and replace after a min. Mine went away by doing that and has not returned
