You need locker.

I have ran thousands of miles of trails. Very rarely do you actually need lockers.
Yeah, you only need lockers for certain types of terrain. If you don't do those trails, you don't need lockers.

Yeah, here goes my list:

Ducks
Names
Modifying anything with front grill (Ok, that's a popular opinion).
Soft tops - I like a hard top when I need it, and no top/bikini top the rest of the time.

I think that's it.

Whatever you do, just don’t call your Jeep “my Big Willy”.

That is, unless your other vehicle happens to be a Ford Bronco. In that case it’s perfectly fine to call your Jeep that... 😫

Not just the sandstone/slickrock. Pretty much everything in the desert. Talc dust, gravel, sand, sharp rocks... even mud, because our mud is peanut butter cement glue from hell. It's not that nice SE mud. Let it dry on the Jeep and you'll have 6" clumps of hardened cement you have to jackhammer off, if it didn't successfully trap your Jeep like fly paper.

In the desert ATs are better than MTs 98% of the time.
Yay, someone else who knows!!

This reminds me of when I was still doing trails in my Toyo M/Ts, because they came on the jeep and I didn't know better. I would notice tires slipping often, but thought it was just a thing. Then I went out after a particularly bad storm during monsoon, and I was like "So THAT'S what M/T's are for!!!" It actually drove great. By mid afternoon, the ground was dry and rock hard and back to tires slipping. I realized then it was a waste to have M/Ts, because, you know, it rains ALL THE TIME in the desert....

We need more quality, full featured lifts in the ~1.5" range. Clayton's Overland Plus is the only one that comes to mind. Anything more than that and 35s start looking like disproportionate and 37s start looking too good. It seems like almost everyone starts in the 2.5"+ range. Below that it's almost all spacers, geo correction brackets and maybe some partial kits.

Sure...
“Badge of Honor” badges on the sides of Jeeps look ridiculous. Literally, no one cares but you, when you have them . When I see someone with a grip of those badges on every square inch of paint, it just screams insecurity. Soooo many people here have done many of those trails and don’t need to put a badge on the outside of their Jeep to show their friends at the grocery store.

The 392 will last through model year 2026.

Any after-market part, add-on, accessory, thing-a-majing that costs more than $500 must come with printed, full-color instructions written by an actual technical writer.

Let it out, we won't tell anyone. What unpopular opinion do you have in this community?
1) Sahara model is for your wife, daughter, or mistress. The only worthwhile Jeep is a Rubicon unless you build out a Sport.

2) The 392 is stupid in a Jeep. Cool but stupid.

3) All the bullshit over colored and flashing light shows and crap

4) Teraflex is shit.

That's hardly an unpopular opinion. ;)

Well-written instruction documents should accompany everything that requires them, irrespective of price point.

Funny thing is this month it does seem like it rains ALL THE TIME. It's weird.

Very true. The one month out of the year an M/T is worth something around here...
